Group Therapy

As a form of therapeutic care, group therapy is where several clients meet with one or more therapists at the same time. The clients form a support group for each other as well as receiving psychologist support and advice.

Group therapy can provide a safe and confidential space to work through common problems and a platform to encourage other participants who face similar difficulties. Knowing that you are not alone in your distress and others have been down the same road can be somewhat comforting.

Some psychological therapy (e.g., social anxiety training, social skills training) is arguably best delivered in a group setting. Participating in group therapy can nevertheless complement individual therapy or operate in a standalone sense. Groups may vary in size dependant on the issue at hand and a variety of other factors.

Adaptive Strategies Currently offers the group therapy aimed at improving:

  • Social Anxiety
  • Social Skills (e.g., Secret Agent Society)
  • Parenting Skills for child & adolescent behaviour management (Triple P, Adaptive Systems Approach for Parents).
  • Mindful meditation and movement.

Group therapy offered will be promoted on our webpage and Facebook page. If you have specific inquiries in relation to group therapy programs offered by Adaptive Strategies, please do not hesitate to contact our administration staff.
